HP Community Pick is a semi-regular blog series where community members have the chance to highlight a show they’re stoked about. This pick is brought to you by Joel (HP Volunteer and local punk fan) on the band ZOiNKS! scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, 2023 who played their Anniversary show with local legends Last One Down and Elephant Rifle. ZOiNKS! are hometown heros and a classic, mid-90s pop punk band (for fans of Kerplunk-era Green Day, Screeching Weasel – with whom they shared a member, and the Mr. T Experience). I’m catching them at Holland for the finale of their three show, 30 year anniversary mini tour and will be ready to dance. An added bonus, Yotam Ben Horin (of Useless ID fame) is joining the band on bass and vocals. Catch them while you can – these are the first ZOiNKS!  shows since the mid 2000’s and (to my knowledge) no other shows are in the works. This is your chance to see a piece of Reno punk history and re-live (or be exposed to) an awesome band with some really fun songs. Support from locals Elephant Rifle and Last One Down round out the show to make for an evening not to be missed. This show is likely to sell out, get your tickets now before it’s too late!
