HP Community Pick: Glare by Brigdon

HP Community Pick is a semi-regular blog series where community members have the chance to highlight a show they’re stoked about. This pick is brought to you by Brigdon Markward (former Holland Project Music Program Director, singer/guitarist of Bug Bath, and currently touring Front of House Engineer) on the band Glare who played with Grave Saddles and Head Stone on Thursday, June 8, 2023 . Read all about it below!

Shoegaze heads are in for a massive treat with this show. The world of dreamy alt-rocky projects is pretty saturated right now, but somehow Texas outfit Glare cut through the noise and keep coming out on top. They can’t be stopped. They describe themselves as “Sonically Swole” which is pretty on the money. I’m also so so excited to have Grave Saddles on this bill; their dreamy, twangy, fuzzed-out country-gaze sounds have made the California band one of my favorite projects as of late, and definitely one to keep an eye on. Make sure you come early to catch Head Stone, I love those sweet, stoney, grungy boys. Stellar project, great tracks. Come get heavy, come get dreamy.
