Call to Teen Artists: New Beginnings

ABOUT: The Holland Project Micro Gallery is seeking art submissions to be included in a group exhibition that showcases local teen artists. The exhibition will run May 23rd–June 17th, with an opening reception on Saturday, May 28th from 5:30-7:30 PM.

THE CONCEPT: Spring can be a time for new beginnings and the revival of nature. It can be a powerful time of change that can inspire transformation outside of nature itself. We’d like to see your interpretation and fabrication of the theme “New Beginnings”; whether it’s a resurrection or rebirth.

THE VENUE: The Holland Project Micro Gallery is located inside Bibo Coffee Company at 945 Record St., Reno. This unique art space allows the Gallery Associate to curate shows by local and out-of-town artists, creating an exhibition space for those emerging and developing within the arts.

REQUIREMENTS: Submit no more than 2 pieces of art no bigger than 24” by 24”, which depict your interpretation of the theme “New Beginnings.”  All art must be framed, and all artists are responsible for preparing and framing their own work. This exhibit is to showcase the talents of teen artists in the Reno area, so please only submit if you are under 20! If you have any questions regarding the requirements or framing email us at   

SALES: For all artwork sales, the Holland Project will retain a 20% commission from the retail price provided by the artist. If you do not wish to sell your art, it will be listed as NFS.  

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: Submissions will only be accepted via e-mail. Send image submissions to by May 13th. Artists are asked to submit no more than 2 original works of art. Be sure to include the following information:

For each piece include: Title, Year/Date, Medium, Size, Price, Brief Artist’s Statement (Optional)

ACCEPTED PIECES: Artists will be notified about selected pieces by May 16th. All accepted pieces should be framed and ready to install and delivered to the Holland Project (140 Vesta Street, Reno) May 17thMay 20th during gallery hours, 3-6PM. Pieces received outside of this timeframe may not be exhibited. All works must remain on display for the entire exhibition from May 23rd-June 17th, 2016.
