More Info on Art+Music Night!
The Holland Project is proud to announce the return of Art+Music Friday Night to the West Street Market in downtown Reno, on West Street between 1st and 2nd streets. For eight consecutive Friday nights beginning July 3 and ending August 28, musicians, artists, craftsters, local businesses, food and beverage vendors, and community groups will come together in West Street Market’s recently renovated and completed courtyard for the second annual Art+Music Friday Night, building on last year’s successful inaugural event.

From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., pursuers will find a bevy of local artisans and DIY crafters of unique, handmade items. This year’s spread will include paintings from local artists like Ron Rash and Annie Hooker, DIY crafts from Jen Graham and Ashley Jennings, music and books from local collective Humaniterrorist, as well as a wide variety of other artists from a range of disciplines.

” I’m working with a skilled a sprightly group of DIY artists for this year’s market,” says Heather Fuss, Art+Music Night co-producer. “It’s going to be a great event. We have everything from vintage inspired swimsuits to paintings, refurbished furniture to handmade wallets, vinyl and CDs to functional pottery.”

Each night has an overarching theme – cohesive nights to encourage a playful atmosphere and promote crowd participation, whether that means dressing up, competing in contests, or dancing the night away in the beautiful West Street Market courtyard. Taking cues from last year’s market, this year’s lineup will include local and national touring bands, slam poetry, dance troupes, puppet show and more. Specific themes, their respective dates and other details including performers are listed below.

“The scope of music, dance and other performances at this year’s market is truly stellar and will be a great showcase of talent, local and national,” says Van Pham, Holland Project Arts and Events Director. “There will also be several chances for people to strut their own stuff on the stage – including formidable air guitarists and folks who like dance parties!”
