The Cards You’re Dealt

The Cards You’re Dealt is a tarot-themed group pop-up exhibition series curated by Ray Frost at The Holland Project, which will occur in three installments between 2025-2026. The first installment, which popped up in the Holland Project Serva Pool Gallery in July 2025, focused on the Major Arcana of the tarot deck. The Major Arcana represents the big themes of the world and major events we will experience over the cycles of our lives. Selected artists for this exhibition were drawn a card by the curator, and then were tasked to interpret that card for their piece. Artists were not allowed to recycle imagery from the classic cards, such as the Rider-Waite. Instead, they were asked to make new pieces using their own symbology and design.

This exhibition was part of Jester’s Gambit, a multi-stop and multi-faceted art and music festival which took place on July 26, 2025.
