Group Exhibition for Teen Open Studios
Hooked features the work of 24 young artists who took part in the 2019 Teen Open Studio program (or TOS, now known as Work in Progress). TOS was a partnership program between the Holland Project and Nevada Museum of Art, which introduced art and design practices to high school students from the region. Over four months, TOS artists met weekly for masterclass-style workshops covering a range of topics including sculpture with artist Kara Savant, screen printing with Hannah Huntley of Laika Press, video art with Chris Lanier, and mural design with Nathaniel Benjamin. Museum curators from NMA, Anne Wolfe and JoAnn Northrup, also lead wonderful tours of the Jack Malotte and Georgia O’Keefe exhibitions and gave a rundown of their curatorial process. A huge thank you goes out to all of the artist mentors who taught workshops and worked with Teen Open Studio this year!
