Christen Harrison – she/her – harrison.christen@gmail.com – Twitter @bbychriss – Facebook: Christen Harrison
I’m originally from Vegas! I am 22 living and working in Reno. I work on an electoral campaign currently and I consider myself to be someone who is always learning about the avenues in which we pursue liberation outside of the electoral system. The state perpetuates violence against us all in different ways and replacing that with what we imagine as liberation, freedom, etc. is most important to work towards to me.

Helen Fillmore – she/her
Helen Fillmore received her bachelor’s in environmental science and terrestrial resource management at the University of Washington. Helen currently sits on the tribal council for the Washoe Tribe as an off-reservation representative and is one of just a handful of remaining speakers of the Washu language. In 2017 Helen published an article titled “Using the Washoe Language to Inform Hydrologic and Environmental Models.”
“I wanted to share the NDN Collective as a (new) organization that is really focused on financially-sponsoring Indigenous individuals and communities for efforts focused on decolonization (in all of North America). I realize that most people won’t be able to benefit directly from this organization, but they provide a framework for financing radical change in really strategic ways (as a way to keep the momentum going). Seeding Sovereignty and Red Nation (already mentioned) are also good resources for information/updates regarding Indigenous issues + our shared responsibility to address injustices against other marginalized communities. None of these are local organizations, however. My email address if people want to contact me is helen.fillmore@washoetribe.us.”
