no worries
December 8 – 17, 2022
Solo Exhibition by Fiona McElhany, HP Window Gallery
no worries is an interactive installation where guests are invited to experience a new scent by local artist Fiona McElhany formulated for the display, as well as record their thoughts and reactions using the “memory machine” made collaboratively with Niko Millias. The recordings will be saved and archived by the artist.
Scent is one way to communicate that recognizes there is more to say without words. Perfume represents a choice to share or express without sound. Putting words to a scent might give more intention or meaning to what’s happening around you, and open a sincere way to talk in the present moment. People don’t change and have access to a greater sense of self-purpose when honest with their own presence and interactions with others.
Fiona McElhany (Reno, NV) graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2018 with a degree in printmaking and chemistry. Her work explores sharing and participation through work typically made in multiples or textiles.
