BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2012-2013

Andrea Borges, Owner, Tessera Glass Mosaic Tile Studio
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Nevada, Reno. Andrea has been dedicated to community arts projects as facilitator for mosaic art workshops for children, adults, and students with special needs. In 2009, Tessera Glass was contracted to construct mosaic designs for installation at New York’s Urban Assembly School of Business for Young Women and the Lower Manhattan Community Middle School. She is a member and sponsor of SAMA – the Society of American Mosaic Artists, an organization dedicated to educating, inspiring, and promoting excellence in mosaic arts. She is a Reno native.

Bob Conrad, Energy Outreach Coordinator, Governor’s Office of Energy

Bob Conrad is a public relations professional in the Reno area. He serves as the outreach coordinator for the Nevada State Office of Energy and consults part time. He has been active in the Reno music scene for years, and he currently plays drums with bands and on various projects.

Clint Neuerburg, Graphic Designer, Access Pass & Design
Clint Neuerburg is that dude from Elephant Rifle who is the de facto head of the Humaniterrorist Record Collective.  He is also a graphic designer by trade and is an aficionado of Mexican food and bandanas on dogs.  Once upon a time, he was one of a small group of people that helped start and create The Holland Project.

Jasmine Cividino, Owner, Crush Hair Studio

Originally from Abita Springs, Louisiana, Jasmine migrated with her parents to Northern Nevada and fell in love with the desert and mountains. She opened her first business–Crush Hair Studio on Liberty–in 2005. Prior to being a hairstylist, she enjoyed working in restaurants and record stores. What drew her to Holland Project was her love of music, art, and being a mother of a youngin’.

Malena Raymond, Coordinator, Nevada Women’s Fund
Born and raised in northern Nevada, Malena is a wife, mom, daughter, sister, and non-profit professional. She began her career as an intern for Artown in 2002 and is currently the Development Director for the Nevada Women’s Fund. Over the past 10 years Malena has worked for various non-profits in Reno, gaining experience in the fields of special event planning, fund development, PR/marketing and non-profit management. In addition to her work, Malena has served on the boards of the Lear Theater, California Avenue Merchants Association and the Reno-Tahoe Young Professionals Network.

Mark Dunagan, Attorney, McDonald Carano Wilson LLP

Mark is a longtime resident of Reno and a graduate of the University of Nevada as well as U.C. Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law. Growing up in Reno, Mark was actively engaged with the local arts community, and since he began practicing law in Reno in 2007, it has been important to him to maintain ties to the arts. Mark enjoys writing and is an occasional contributor to the Reno News and Review. He is also a proud co-founder and director of Volunteers for International Developers and Aid (VIDA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life on a community scale in developing countries around the world.

Megan Berner, Artist and Educator, University of Nevada, Reno [President]
Megan Berner is an artist who currently teaches photography and art at the University of Nevada Reno. She is also co-owner of Buffalo Wallow Press with her twin sister–an independent press specializing in custom letterpress things. Megan graduated with her MFA in Intermedia in 2008 and is a member of the College Book Arts Association. She worked for the Nevada Conservation Corps combining photography and conservation efforts in Lake Tahoe for a year and was an Obermann Graduate Fellow at the University of Iowa in 2008 where she proposed teaching a class centered around gardening. After returning to her hometown in 2008, Megan has been championing local art and culture and enjoying the desert landscape.

Megan Merenda, Development Director, Sierra Nevada Journeys
Living, working and creating art in Reno for over 14 years, Megan considers herself a local and is a proud supporter of the arts and culture movement Reno has undertaken. Megan has six years of experience working for nonprofit organizations in Reno, including teaching art programs to underserved youth.  Being rooted in the belief that access to education and the arts is paramount to ending the poverty cycle and building successful communities, Megan’s work is focused on obtaining funding for nonprofits which ensures Reno’s youth have access to education and arts programs, regardless of ability to pay.

Tim Conder, Co-owner of Bootleg Courier Company / Co-founder, Reno’s Black Label Bike Club [Treasurer]
Tim is the co-owner of Reno’s first environmentally friendly delivery service, Bootleg Courier Company, and spends his additional time as a Visionist and Property Keeper at Cuddleworks ArtSpace, and as the Owner and Operator of a to-be-named non-profit design and construction company. He’s also a dog owner, and most likely an 8 on the Enneagram.
