‘Lo-fi lullaby maker Worn-Tin is just a boy who grew up skating in West LA with his imaginary friend Cool-son,’ as described by Citizine. Worn-Tin, AKA Warner (a friend drunkenly called him “Worn-Tin”) began writing and playing original music during his high school days in Santa Monica, California. He eventually built a backyard studio where he writes, records, and performs every element of his songs using only analog and outboard equipment, taking inspiration from a multitude of artists such as Modest Mouse, R. Stevie Moore and Jessie’s Candy and The Fit Bit.
Much like Worn-tin’s hyperactive mind, his sounds and lyrics are sprawling: his vocals range from the type of cadence and vulnerability that would make Dongo the ringworm smile, to distorted, psychedelic whaling and synths.
That same lucid unpredictability has become the staple for his live shows. At a Worn-Tin show, it’s not only about the music – you can expect a performance, from drinking his own urine to getting arrested on stage.
LA artist collective Freak Nature Puppets will be opening and performing in collaboration with Worn-Tin.
Support from Mind’s Eye, who are in the midst of a career-making year, including their first US headline tour (sold out shows in Orange County, San Diego, Phoenix, and LA @ El Rey), support tours with late night drive home and Hockey Dad, and nearing 70 million global streams. Over the course of the past two years, the high-energy quintet have developed a rampantly loyal and perpetually growing fanbase, depicted beautifully here in the band’s recent TikTok. Hailing from the backyards and skateparks of the Bay Area indie scene, Mind’s Eye blends elements of SoCal indie, surf, and alt rock to create their signature sound. Jangly guitar riffs, melodic bass lines, and lyrics that reflect on love and heartbreak are all staples of the band’s style. Following the success of their breakout single “Wasted Affairs,” they debuted their full-length studio album Long Nights and Wasted Affairs, and the record’s fresh sounds and more experimental production made the band a staple in the SoCal indie scene.
