Tools 101 & Basic Carpentry Workshop

Wanting to get into building and woodworking but feeling intimidated or don’t know how to get started? Join our Tools 101 & Basic Carpentry Workshop led by licensed contractor Dan Steimetz! This hands-on workshop is designed to equip participants with essential skills and confidence in woodworking and covers proper safety and usage for a wide range of tools including table saws, chop saws, skilsaws, sawzalls, nail guns, sanders, drills and bits, routers, and more. Dan will cover standard building techniques, from framing to detailed finish work, alongside precise measuring and cutting methods to ensure accuracy in every project. With live demonstrations and active participation, you’ll get a chance to practice skills in real time and reinforce your learning. The workshop will also include an open forum where you can ask any questions and learn about correct building processes. Beyond technical skills, we’ll explore the philosophy of building and creativity, helping you develop not only craftsmanship but also a thoughtful approach to design and construction. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, this workshop will provide you with the knowledge, practice, and inspiration to elevate your carpentry abilities so you can build safely, effectively, and creatively.

This workshop is open to all ages and skill levels. Participants under 16 should be accompanied by an adult and participants under 18 will need a parent/guardian signed waiver in order to use any of the tools.

Unfortunately, we are unable to give refunds for workshop registration unless the workshop is canceled, instructors can’t make it, or in the event of an emergency situation. We thank you for your understanding!
