Learn the basics of reading schematics and soldering by making your very own little noise synth with Ilya Arbatman! We will be building – from scratch – a 555-based synthesizer with modulation and wave-shaping controls. Synths will be built with components on perfboard, not in enclosures, but you will have everything you need to find a fitting enclosure and install your synth in it on your own. The synth is modular and scalable: we will be building a single oscillator, but you will learn all you need to know to add as many oscillators to the circuit as you want and even modify values and components for maximum sound manipulation potential.
Registration is required for this workshop and space is limited. No soldering experience necessary – all materials and tools provided and covered by cost of workshop. Participants under 14 should be accompanied by an adult.
Unfortunately, we are unable to give refunds for workshop registration unless the workshop is canceled, instructors can’t make it, or in the event of an emergency situation. We thank you for your understanding!
