Destiny Bond, hardcore punk from Denver, CO, has a sound and style that takes influence from the earlier years of hardcore punk, i.e. The Faith, Ramones, Black Flag. Most of the riffs come from a love of Government Issue, Jerry’s Kids, and Buzzcocks.

Gumm, hardcore punk from Chattanooga, TN, have developed an imaginative and spiky brand of hardcore punk, one that carves up the genre’s base ingredients and neatly re-splices them in their own image. There’s recognizable components—the guitar, bass and drums, Waldon’s shredded vocal style—but the end result is distinctly off-kilter, packed with odd chord changes and unpredictable structures.

Judy and the Jerks, a happy hardcore punk band from Hattiesburg, MS. They write lyrics about ice cream and french fries and make music that sounds like Suburban Lawns covering 7 Seconds.
