The Pterror: An Illustrated Look At Lost Birds Reception
March 12, 2020 @ 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
A fellow Reno desert rat, Gency Warren has been evolving her style since she and her older brother first started drawing cartoon characters as kids. She looks to artists like Escher, Pettibon, and Topor for inspiration, and – most of all – her peers and influencers who challenge convention with “low brow” minimalism, humor, and realism. Common mediums in her art include ink, watercolor, scratchboard, and pencil; often using a stippling technique and touch of “whimsy.” She has been fortunate to display her work in half a dozen local art spaces, cafes, and bars since 2008. You can see more of Gency’s work on Instagram @gencills.
The Pterror: An Illustrated Look at Lost Birds is on exhibit MAR. 8th – APR. 30th, 2020 in the Holland Project Satellite Gallery located inside Cafe Capello at 248 W 1st St, Reno, NV.
