POSTPONED: Teen Art Night
April 17, 2020 @ 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Our annual teen takeover with the Nevada Museum of Art featuring hands-on activities and stations, live music, djs, open galleries, interactive adventures, food and drink, photo booth, special performances and more!
This year’s theme: hair. Hair as material, as statement, as a symbol of rebellion and new possibilities, as rejection of discrimination and restrictive gender roles, as a medium, as an aesthetic, a secret message or signal, fashion or anti-fashion, protest, texture, as canvas or platform, as a tool or textile or object, a vehicle of youth expression and identity, as history and as the future.
Using both the slate of exhibitions at the NMA (including The World Stage) and the current cultural moment for inspiration, this year’s theme will be embedded throughout the night’s activities and offerings and we encourage everyone to get in on the action. Make an outfit out of hair, create a wig out of non-traditional objects, show up with a crew in bald caps, make your own (respectful!) hair statement or art, create some accessories, dig into history for inspiration, think about hair in non-traditional ways. Peep our inspo page here!
Teen Art Night is April 17 at 7PM at the Nevada Museum of Art, $10
