An Evening with Gloria Steinem
September 20, 2016 @ 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM • $15
Gloria Steinem is a trailblazer; a pioneer; a fierce and inspiring advocate; a social and political activist; an acclaimed journalist and lecturer; and a seminal feminist leader. For more than half a century, Steinem has worked tirelessly to advance equality and at 82 years old, hasn’t slowed down. Steinem is particularly interested in the shared origins of sex and race caste systems, gender roles and child abuse as roots of violence, non-violent conflict resolution, the cultures of indigenous peoples, and organizing across boundaries for peace and justice. Her most recent book, My Life on the Road, tells a story she has never told before, a candid account of her life as a traveler, a listener, and a catalyst for change.
We are honored to present an Evening with Gloria Steinem on September 20 at Nightingale Concert Hall in partnership with Sundance Books & Music and Nevada Humanities. Doors open at 5:30PM | event at 7PM.
TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT – WAY TO GO RENO! <3
**PLEASE NOTE: The program will begin at 7:00PM SHARP (super important, especially for Holland folks to note – this event is not running on punk time)! Attendees are asked to be in their seats by this time, and to make sure you give yourself plenty of time to find parking (see info below!) and to make your way to the theater. Those arriving later than 7PM might be held at the door until they can enter without disruption, or seats may be filled by those on a waiting list to get in. In other words, DON’T BE LATE! 🙂
