Austin Pratt + Tom Wixo Reception

The Holland Project Gallery is thrilled to exhibit collaborative works by artists Austin Pratt (NV) and Tom Wixo (PA) in our main gallery space from Aug. 1 – 30, 2019.
Austin and Tom met while at the University of Tennessee in the Fall of 2015 where they shared a living and work space from 2015-2018 and often found themselves engaged in similar conversations about how and what drawing was and could be. For their exhibition, Weeping Laughing Song, they sent drawings back and forth to each other through the mail between Nevada and Pennsylvania. These drawings emerged out of responding, mutilating, distorting, focusing, centering, derailing, and fragmenting broken images and idiosyncratic processes; expanding a more open idea of how drawings can be.
An artist reception with Austin and Tom is set for Thursday, Aug. 15 from 6-8pm. The exhibition is on view from Aug. 1 – 30 with gallery hours Wed-Fri from 12-6pm or by appointment by contacting alisha@hollandreno.org or calling 775-448-6500.
