Nicole Miller + Rachel Wark Opening Receptions
June 13, 2017 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
We have a double whammy for you with opening receptions for two awesome new exhibitions in the Holland Project Gallery!
In the hallway gallery space we have work by local artist Nicole Miller in an exhibition titled, Simulacra. Nicole utilizes digital methods to create sculptural mixed media pieces that explore connections between her own physical human body, digital technologies and both their cultural contexts.
We also have a rad installation by New York based artist, Rachel Wark, in the back area of the main gallery space. Rachel’s exhibition, Define Divine, is an on-going project with both online and physical manifestations exploring the validity of sacred images and objects through the re-contextualization of hyper-capitalist imagery. Comprised of wallpaper installation, live single channel projection of Define-Divine.com as well as several sculptural elements, the installation mimics mass-produced American kitsch while offering new vessels of worship.
Come out and chat with both of the artists during the Opening Reception on, Tuesday, June 13th from 6-8pm! Both exhibition will be on view in the Holland Project Gallery from June 13 – 30, 2017.
