Madeline Goldstein, More Ephemoral, @LARGE, Baby Abeille
March 29 @ 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM • $10.00
With emotion and a strong ear for pop melody, Madeline Goldstein echoes the energies of new wave, dream-pop, and dark wave, all while showcasing the vocal range and passion of femme pop icons and 80s theatrics. Her lineup features a rotating cast of textural guitar and the occasional passionate saxophonist. This dark pop princess makes retro dungeon pop that’s exotic and invigorating. Dark but beautiful, it should energize a synth-wave and dark-wave community eager for more melodically decadent dark hits.
Taking inspiration from new wave and synth-punk, L.A.’s More Ephemerol’s new song “Fertile Energy”, a track off their upcoming LP, is a loving ode to the divine feminine. Comprised of Sea Fjerstad and Tamara Sky, the band echoes minimal wave projects like Turquoise Days, Oppenheimer Analysis, as well as early Human League, Heaven 17, and Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark.
