LOOLOWNINGEN [lu – lo – neen – gain ], means “wandering people”,  formed early summer of 2010. They are a Tokyo-based alternative/progressive/math rock trio, with ink wash painting-like sounds and unicursal rhythms, for all wanderers.

Gentleman Surfer is difficult to categorize, and draws upon a wide range of influences, anywhere from Captain Beefheart and King Crimson, to film and video game music, Classical, Jazz, Punk, etc. . . Alongside Bafus on Drums are Barry McDaniel on Guitar, and Zack Bissell on synthesizers. The collective sound is both tight and loose simultaneously, and continually growing and shifting into a bigger and stronger vortex of angular, shifting rhythms and timbres
