Impulse is an American Rock band from Portland, Oregon. The band is comprised of Jake Ryan Mercer {lead vocals}, Jared Michael {guitars and backing vocals}, Michael Sahm {guitars}, and Brandon Steputat {drums}.
Mercer and Michael formed Impulse together after the dissolution of their previous band, notable Portland metalcore act Subtle City.
Steputat and Sahm also worked together previously on an EP for metal act Perceptions. Steputat played drums and Sahm produced and was primary songwriter for the album.
Mercer and Michael started working on an album and enlisted Sahm to produce. Steputat was brought on to play drums and Sahm eventually ended up joining the band.
