Eric Rich + Dylan Greist
April 8, 2016 @ 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Eric Rich is a self trained pianist out of Salt Lake City, where he rides his piano around. To most, this might sound like a typo, but one of the things that Eric has become known for is attaching his piano to a bike and riding it around the streets of Salt Lake City with his ensemble, and performing his own brand of modern classical music. His playing evokes the feeling of dimly lit streetlamps, and the feeling of warm nights walking outdoors, perhaps the scent of a late spring blossoming into the heat of summer. Like the soundtrack to some melancholy movie you’ve found amidst your things, unsure of it’s origins. We’re incredibly excited to have Eric perform at Holland, and we hope you are too. It isn’t often that we host classical performances, so it would definitely be in your best interest not to miss this one!
Joining Eric will be a solo set by Dylan Greist of City Wolves. This will be a special one-off instrumental set, layering reverb drenched guitar tracks over each other to make symphonic and heavily post-rock influenced tracks. If you don’t catch this set, who knows if you’ll get another chance to see it.
This is a show for fans of classical, for those who ride or appreciate bikes (perhaps even both), and for those looking for a peaceful and thought provoking performance before leading into the rest of what might be a crazy Friday night.
