Direct Animation Workshop
July 25, 2021 @ 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM • $25.00
We are so excited for this crash course intro to direct-animation otherwise known as cameraless filmmaking! Visiting artist Emily MacDiarmid will introduce us to the history of cameraless filmmaking as well as the contemporary use of this technique. Working on 16 mm film, attendees will create frame by frame animations through painting, scratching, and bleaching. As a result of this workshop, participants will create a short experimental film that will later be digitized and sent back to all attendees.
This is an in-person workshop opportunity. For the safety of instructors and participants, there are limited tickets available and masks are required for all Holland Project events.
We are unable to give refunds for workshop registration unless the workshop is cancelled, instructor can’t make it, or in the event of an emergency situation. We thank you for your understanding! <3
This workshop is supported in part by the City of Reno Arts & Culture Commission.
