Design-Build: Modular Functional Objects – THIS WORKSHOP IS SOLD OUT!
The Design-Build workshop is open to novices with hand and/or power tools (no experience necessary) or the experienced builder. We will be designing and building small functional objects that could be made to fit together as modular units if workshop participants decided to make more of their designs at home. Finish plywood is the material. The fun objective, aside from the design and building, is to challenge ourselves to use only inter-locking points of tension to create structural integrity… make the objects hold together.
Local artist and builder Jay Damron will be leading this workshop at The Holland Project on Saturday, February 1st from 12pm-5pm with a short snack break in between. $20 covers all supplies and materials.
Please bring: clear impact resistant shop safety glasses, small (can be disposable) ear plugs or ear protection of some kind and practical shoes/boots (i.e. no flip flops or open toes please)
If you have any decent sized pieces of finish plywood, feel free to bring as well!
