Debt Rag, Tofu02, The Not Working Group

Debt Rag is “adult punk” from Olympia, WA, and a collaboration of Max Nordile, Lillian Maring, and Marissa Magic (bonafide punks and members of: Grass Widow, Preening, and gSP). the sound is not settling on previous, riding laurels, or what-not. it is revisioning composition, against nostalgia, is anti-work, and “it looks good off paper” they say. it is surfing disillusionment, meditations on the day-to-day. cooperatively generative, minus guitar. it is horns horning toodle doots, keyboard twinkles and splats/ bass calm thuds and dead ring / collision sounds squeezed from a floor tom and cymbal and cowbell, unison drone, getting sloopy, keys still in the door. overall a thing to listen to and ponder.
