Daniel Alejandro Trejo Opening Reception
October 25, 2019 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
This fall we are excited to exhibit the work of Stockton, CA based ceramicist and sculptor, Daniel Alejandro Trejo. Daniel’s work acts as an exploration of concepts related to absence and fragility through an emphasis on volume and color, while also considering density and mass. Viewers project any subconscious emotions, attitudes, or motivations through the ambiguous forms of the sculptures. The tolerance for ambiguity is challenged; being too visible or too ambiguous can jeopardize existence in its entirety, and enact violence that is physical and emotional resulting in abject gossip, slander, and perception of “the other” enabling abandonment or rejection.
Daniel’s exhibition, A Dangerous Place To Be, is on view from Oct. 23 – Nov. 22 with an opening reception on Friday, Oct. 25 from 6-8pm. Regular gallery hours Wed-Fri from 12-6pm or by appointment by contacting alisha@hollandreno.org or calling 775-448-6500.
