Car Seat Headrest is the moniker of Will Toledo, and has turned out 6 albums in under 3 years that were all recorded in his bedroom! Matador Records then swooped in and signed Toledo and produced his critically acclaimed album Teens of Style last October. Toledo really has a sound of his own, but Pitchfork describes him as “Guided by Voices’ ear for cracked pop oddities, Belle and Sebastian’s emotional directness, Yo La Tango’s intimate approach to jamming, and Stephen Malkmus’ ability to get wordy without forgetting to rock out” and we think that is a good summation of Car Seat Headrest. If that wasn’t enough, we have sweet-n-lo-fi rockers Night Rooms, and Heartsleeve, the lo-fi solo project of Blake Nelson! This show will rule!!
