Color for Shade is a continuation of Reno-based artist Samantha Buchanan’s project, […] To Be Invisible (spoken as “something to be invisible”), which she began at a residency at UNR’s Lake Tahoe campus. The project is a tribute to someone – or something – who kept the artist company throughout the residency. However, the artist doesn’t know this someone’s name, or, for that matter, if they even exist. However, given that so much of her work is about expanding sensory perception, it doesn’t seem that far-fetched for the artist to hang a show for a ghost.

A reception will be held on Friday, August 21st, with additional gallery hours on Saturday, August 22nd.
