Built to Weather will feature a bad-ass selection of snowboard related photography by the likes of: Bud Fawcett, Ian Ruhter, Mike Basich, Jim Zellers with Richard Leversee, Mike Yoshida, Paul Laca and Tim Peare. Curator Chris Carnel has somehow tracked down prominent works from these globe-trotting photographers. Together they form a unique crew of individuals intrinsically involved with the sport. Their diverse selection of photographs features pinnacle, historical moments involving iconic individuals that have lived and breathed the life.

To wrap up the show, on February 2nd 1 PM at the NMA for $5, will be a screening  of Basich’s short movie Open Space with a Q&A to follow.  Carnel (Basich is in Europe then) and Ruhter will be speaking about their involvement in documenting the sport; Ruhter from both sides of the camera. Ruhter will also elaborate on his cutting edge style of shooting (hint: it involves a truck and wet plates), his work in Built to Weather and being an ex-pro in the sport. Following the screening the gallery will be open from 2:30-3:30PM.
