Balasana: Works by Erica Greif

Balasana: Works by Erica Greif

If you’ve gotten a chance to pick up May’s Showprint, you’ll notice the month’s art print is by Erica Greif. Even without reading the artist credit, it’s easy to pick out Erica’s work. Her themes of nature and humanity paired with found objects makes her work visually distinct.

If you’re not familiar with Erica’s work, then come by the Holland Project Gallery during the month of May to get a look at her first solo show, Balasana. This exhibit is one portion of a three-part exhibition by the Underbelly Artists’ Collective titled Scenes, Dreams & Things. Balasana is a collection of mixed-media pieces Erica created over the last eight months in an attempt to answer the question: Is it progression if I still hold myself like a child? The exhibit has a number of handmade shadow boxes and prints that are sure to impress. The show runs from May 8 through May 22, with the opening reception Wed. May 11 from 6-8pm. The Hub coffee shop and Never Ender boutique will also be open on the 11th to feature receptions for their Underbelly Collective artists.
